After launching the world’s first Exchange ActiveSync® push e-mail for Android Smartphones, Emtrace Technologies, Inc. released a free trial version of Moxier Mail Pre-release on April 13th, 2009. The Pre-release version includes the same level of features as the full version (available later this month). Key features on the Pre-release include:
- Direct push synchronization with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 & 2007
- Easy to receive, reply, compose and delete e-mails like on your computer
- Secure environment with SSL support
- HTML e-mails with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007
- Imported Contacts from Exchange server
- Subfolders
- Push Mail with longer lasting battery life
- Attachments
- Private Certification Authority
Since its first introduction in February 2009, Moxier Mail has gone through a number of Closed Beta tests for quality improvements and enhanced feature upgrades. As a result, this version is now easier to setup; supports Exchange Contacts, Attachments, and Subfolders; and is perfectly ready for corporate use.
The Moxier Mail Pre-release is now available as a free download at the Android market and will expire after the full version is launched in late April.

I downloaded Moxier Pre release to my G1 but when setting up an account I don't know what to put for the domain or server info. Can someone help?

I was really hoping this would work for me, the interface looks nicer than the TouchDown one. However although I've tried every possible combination I can think of, I can't seem to get it to connect to my university server. It keeps on asking me to check the connection or settings. Oh well, guess I'll have to stick with TouchDown for now.

Jenny, thanks, the thing to remember with the WiFi-sleep-bug is that it worked before the second release, and now it doesn't.
Honestly, what I'd love to see is a not-complex :
1, Push email always on (unless disabled), 2, ability to read emails of any size, 3, ability to view email details, and 4, the ability to reply/reply-to-all.
So, yeah, the stripped down beta version, plus no size-limit and reply all. :-) Whole and all, don't over-complicate something that was pretty much amazing before!
Keep Moxing -N

Jenny, thanks for getting back to me but that doesn't seem to be working. I have right now an email which I had moved at least and hour and half ago on the PC and I have gotten since then at least 2 emails (one of which I sent to myself from another account) and still the email is saying there and saying it hasn't been read. Also I have tried reading the email and it will then go back to bold as if I hadn't read it. I'm afraid there is more to this then just not getting the server push. One more thing I just took the email I moved and put it back in the inbox and now I have the message twice (the read version and then always unread version).

Guys, Great to see more another app that supports Exchange with Direct Push and it does seem to work alright. Although, I seem to be having some sporadic issues with Push. It seems like after working great for over 15 hours, it seems to have lost the Push (over 3g)? I can manually sync, the folders and my emails start to show up - so whats going on? Is this something anyone else is seeing? Secondly, I don't seem to be receiving notifications for emails that are delivered to sub-folders. Also, I noticed I sent a few emails, and one of them actually truncated the quoted messages. Seems like there is a limit on size of messages that can be sent on the trial version? Apart from that, I must I quite like the application, very polished and professional, fast, skinned well to match overall look and feel of Android. It works!!

Thanks guy for your questions and I apologize for delayed response. Please read on for the answers to your comments:

Nathan: when using wifi, it falls into sleep mode causing direct push to sleep. Other issues you've mentions will be considered for possible integration in later versions. Thank you!
Shawn: Can you send us the even logs? We'll be interested in having a look at it and we'll have that fixed.
David:This issue has been fixed. Please download the latest version on Android Market.
Mark: Exchange server 2003 itself doesn't provide HTML. Issue on importing address has been fixed. Please download the latest version on the Android Market.

Monte: I have passed on the issues you've brought up for possible consideration. I ask for your patience as it may be integrated in our later versions.
John Lyons: When actions such as Move, Delete, Mark as Read/Unread are made on PC, it may take upto 20min (upto 20min for business/direct push & upto 5min for polling mode) for the change to apply on your G1. Receiving new mails will have the changes applied to your phone right away. This is not an error - server is just not that quick in telling you the changes.

I have been using Moxier Mail for about a month. I also have Touchdown. I like Moxier's interface much better, but have a few comments. It would be nice to have the cursor goto the top of the message body when replying to a message. Also, I'd like to be able to query the email server when I don't have a global name in my address book...Touchdown does this. Other than that, I think it's a fantastic product.

Oh I should add that I was moving the emails to other folders directly from Outlook and not moving them using the phone.
John Lyons on Apr 20, 2009 at 6:55 AM
I am noticing an annoying little problem. I'm noticing that sometimes I am still seeing emails that I had already moved to other folders still in my inbox on the phone. Last time this happened a few of the emails were even still saying they weren't read and when I would try to delete them they would just come back. In that instance I had to delete the account and put it back again. This time not as extreme (with emails showing up saying the haven't been read) but still seeing emails that I had already moved to other folders even after a sync. Has anyone else seen this issue and is there any other fix then just deleting and re-establishing your account? Still love this program though.
Shawn on Apr 17, 2009 at 11:35 AM
Can we get any feedback on the issues please?
Nathan on Apr 16, 2009 at 7:04 AM
As much as I like being able to view emails larger than 5k, I want the beta back. Now:
*directpush does not stay on (especially when on wifi)
*directpush is sporatic at best, sometimes receiving emails an hour later.
*email updating on the server-side are much slower (if ever).
*battery may be depleting faster too (all things constant)
I miss the stripped down version... any feedback on those? - N

Jenny, I keep receiving SyncEngineController error messages. I believe this is keeping direct push from working the way it should. Can you advise on a solution for this problem?
David on Apr 14, 2009 at 2:52 PM
When syncing contacts from Exchange Server 2003, only one phone number will update. How do you get all phone numbers to update for each contact?
shawn on Apr 14, 2009 at 10:35 AM
Jenny, I will reinstall the program and and provide the error message to you in this thread. Thanks
Mark on Apr 14, 2009 at 5:24 AM
This application is excellent! Nice job! Two questions, will the full version support HTML Email with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003? Second, the address is not imported and only one phone number is imported for contacts. Will this be fixed in the full version?

Bryan>>To sync folders:Go to Settings, click on Receive and select Sync Folder. Then check the folders you want to sync and save by pressing the Back Key. Once you save this settings, it'll automatically sync and push new mails to the synced folders.

Shawn>>There's no turn around time for support e-mails for we check it as often as we can. However, I couldn't find your e-mail. What was your question? (Do you mind sending it again?)
Shawn on Apr 13, 2009 at 9:05 AM
I have sent a detailed response to your support desk but have not yet received a response. What is the normal turn around time on support requests, etc...?
Thanks

I have two questions for you. 1) How do you sync sub folders? I've tried setting it up in the UI but there was no option to sync. 2) What will be the price of the app once it's final. Knowing the price point will prepare me if I need to look into another solution.
Thank you for time. Bryan
